Conversations with Marcy - Using Inverted Commas

Hi Year 3! Today in our English lesson we are going to be using inverted commas again to punctuate speech. We are going to be doing this with more detail than the last time we looked at using inverted commas (speech marks). We are going to be writing down a conversation between Marcy and Thoth! We will be thinking about the types of characters they are, how they mat be feeling and how this would affect the way they would speak to one another. We will need to be clever with how we use different words for 'said' and also adverbs to add detail to how they are saying it too. Watch the video, explaining how we use inverted commas and then look at the example sentences I have written to see how I would like you work written out. I have given you word mats with good language on to help you with this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zvwwxnb/articles/ztcp97h Click once you are ready to write your own conversations between Marcy and the evil Thoth!
