Teachers, save “Fraction Spelling Words” to assign it to your class.

Choose 10 words from our past spelling list. For each of these 10 words, turn them into fractions. For example: School School has 6 total letters. The total number of letters is 6 and will represent your denominator. School has 2 vowels (a, e, i, o, u). The total number of vowels is 2 and will represent your numerator. School has a fraction of 2/6 or 1/3. Remember to have your fractions in simplest form. After you have turned your 10 words into fractions, complete the following: -Order your fraction spelling words from least to greatest. -Write two addition problems using your words and solve. -Write two subtraction problems using your words and solve. Example: School + Book 1/3 + 1/2 = 5/6
