Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

These activities have been created to help beginner musicians to learn and practice reading skills of conventional staff notation. They also encourage students to think about composing using notation. The notebook is based on the Recorder Karate Programme and can be adapted for different belt colours. It has been designed as a notebook for students to navigate at their own pace over a period of time. Each one of the activities can be used as a standalone activity to support the learning of the notes B, A and G and follow the Recorder Karate Programme. They can also be adapted for learning other notes and instruments/voice. Hot Cross Buns can be played using tuned percussion, keyboard or virtual instruments. Using other instruments will still support students with learning notes B,A and G.
