Watercolor and Salt Painting

Grades: Kindergarten, Pre-K
Subjects: Art

Student Instructions

Today, you will paint with salt! Here is what you: watercolour paints, paintbrush, water in small bowl, white paper, salt, spray bottle (optional) First, paint your paper with the watercolors. Before the paint dries, sprinkle salt on top or spray the paint with water from a spray bottle before adding the salt. The paint must be wet for the salt to have effect. Allow the paint to fully dry and then brush off the salt. A dry sponge will help remove the salt. Once you are done, tap add and take a photo of painting. If you took pictures during the activity, add those as well! Tap mic and tell me about your painting. What did you paint? Why did you use the colours you used? Learning Intentions: To explore colour To explore different mediums in art
