Prediction: The ice cube will melt more quickly in a glass of water than in an empty glass. How to test my prediction: Materials: You will need two glasses. One glass will be filled with water. The other glass will remain empty. You also need two of the same size ice cubes. First you will take a glass and fill it with tap water. The other glass will remain empty. Second you will put the same size ice cube in each glass at the same time. Third, you will wait and observe the ice cubes to see which is melting more quickly. Lastly, write down which ice cube melted first.

Student Instructions

Today, I want to teach you that when you write a how to or procedure, you have to include... 1. The materials you need to complete the how to or procedure 2. Step by step SPECIFIC instructions on how to complete the how to or procedure 3. Include transition words such as first, next, then, and last OR first, second, third, fourth... Please see my example on the procedure I wrote on how I tested the prediction that an ice cube would melt more quickly in a glass of water than in an empty glass. Today, you will create a how to writing piece OR video teaching me how to test the hypothesis: An ice cube with salt on it will melt more quickly than an ice cube without salt. You are only focusing on the procedure or how to of the experiment. Please let me know if you have any questions.
