The Internet of Trees

Grades: 6th Grade, 5th Grade, 4th Grade
Subjects: Character Building, Home Learning, Science

Student Instructions

1. Watch the video video about ‘Intelligent Trees’. 2. After watching, use the label the illustration with a few words to describe how the ‘internet of trees’ spreads nutrients and information through the forest community. How do the older trees help young trees and ground cover plants? How do they warn of threats? 3. Now that we know trees are connected to and nurture the whole forest community, how do you think our human community should treat them? Use the mic to share at least two ideas for how we can better protect and ‘re-wild’ our critical forest habitat.
