My Roller Coaster Model

Grades: 3rd Grade, 4th Grade
Subjects: Science

Student Instructions

Use the pencil to draw a roller coaster track using the information you learned from the marble roller coaster model. You must have hills and curves so the roller coaster would actually work in real life. Make sure your starting point is at a place that will give the roller coaster car enough energy to finish the entire track. Draw a roller coaster car on your track. Use the label to label 1. where the starting point of your roller coaster is. 2. where the ending point of your roller coaster is. 3. where the roller coaster will be moving the fastest. 4. where the roller coaster car will be moving the slowest. Next, on page 2, use vocabulary words and complete sentences to describe your roller coaster. - Why is the place you marked on your roller coaster the fastest? - Why is the place you marked on your roller coaster the slowest? ** Vocabulary words in your description are force, speed, motion, gravity, and direction. ** If there is extra time, you may color and add details to help easily understand your roller coaster.
