Binary Encoding Images

Grades: 6th Grade, 5th Grade
Subjects: STEAM, Digital Citizenship, Computer Science

Student Instructions

All computer data is represented using binary, think images, numbers, letters, etc. Binary uses a system that uses only 1's and 0's (on/off). Binary digits (a bit) can be grouped together in a set of 8 to form a byte. Your task: Using the draw tool colour the squares to create an image then using 1's and 0's create the code for your image in the space next to it. Dont forget to CHECK your code to 'debug' it! See if a friend can create your image afterwards!
