We are learning to read and spell common words confidently and accurately. Work on one page at a time unless you are very confident with all of them. FIRST On one page, click on the voice recording voice to hear the word and then repeat it. Try reading the word by sounding it out. When you are confident try reading the words without listening to the recording first but listen to the recording voice after each word to check that your reading is correct. THEN When you are confident reading all of the words on the page correctly use the mic to record yourself reading these words. Read and record one page of the common words at a time. NEXT Look at the words on the page and try to sound out each word by breaking the words into their individual sounds. You could practise this using diacritical marking, on a whiteboard or with magnetic letters. You can practise spelling these words however you wish, such as rainbow writing, using paint, building them out of Lego or making them out of sticks outside. Be creative and try to spell them in lots of different ways! FINALLY When you are feeling confident spelling the words on the page ask someone to read out the words one at a time. Don't look at the screen. Write the words on a piece of paper as a little spelling test. Check your spelling is correct then take a picture photo of your spelling and add it the My Spelling page. When you are confident and accurate with reading and spelling all of these Stage 2 Common Words complete the self-assessment and submit check this activity. There is no deadline for this activity. Submit it when you are ready.
