Imagine that you are an artist and that you have been asked by an author to design a cover for their new short story. The author asks you to read the short story and base the cover off a creative adaptation of a theme from the text. Luckily, you remember how to identify theme from a lesson in eighth grade English! But there is a catch—you are not the only artist who has been asked to design this cover. The author contacted several artists to do this along with a letter to the author describing how they are interpreting a theme. You are a starving artist and you need the money to make rent for next month, so you need to knock this out of the park.
