Overview: Grades K-2 Students practice estimation by guessing which jar has more. Students use the microphone to justify their response. **Modify this Activity for 3-5th grade by giving students a cost for each item and having them estimate which jar is the most expensive. How to use this activity: 1. Ask prompting questions that encourage student thinking around estimation. 2. Explain that estimation is a guess. 3. Model the Activity: Click the Activities tab>Add Response>Use the Learning Tools to complete the tasks>Click the green Check. Materials: Teachers can fill their own see through containers with manipulatives of varying sizes so students can hold the jars to make their estimates.
