Teachers, save “The Unteachables: C14 (Dr. Thaddeus)” to assign it to your class.

Write a paragraph about a time you have held a grudge against someone. 1) What did they do to harm you? 2) Would an apology be enough to earn your forgiveness, or do you expect more than words? 3) Is there anything Mr. Kermit could say or do to persuade Dr. Thaddeus to get over it after 27 years?

Student Instructions

In 1992, 7th grader Jake Terranova stole a copy of a test, sold it to his peers, and Mr. Kermit's entire class aced the test. The principal, Dr. Thaddeus, made a big deal about it in the news and bragged about how great his school was. However, when it was revealed that the students at Dr. Thaddeus's school were cheating, all the blame was placed on Mr. Kermit. 27 years later, Dr. Thaddeus is still holding a grudge. Type a note and write a paragraph about a time you have held a grudge against someone. What did they do to harm you? Would an apology be enough to earn your forgiveness, or do you expect more than words? Is there anything Mr. Kermit could say or do to persuade Dr. Thaddeus to get over it after 27 years?
