Math at Home activities include a variety of math routines that invite students to engage in meaningful mathematical problem solving and discourse. Math at Home activities are provided by The Math Learning Center with support from the Maier Math Foundation. MOBILE MATH Mobile Math activities invite students to look at the mobile, and use their understanding of equality, number relationships, and operations to begin thinking algebraically and discover the value of unknown quantities. Students take it to the next level by changing a value within the mobile, or by identifying patterns and rules about the values of the shapes. Take a look at the Reference for Educators for sample student responses for this specific activity. https://mathathome.mathlearningcenter.org/activity/1694 WANT TO LEARN MORE?
