Student Instructions

Good morning, Today we are going to be doubling numbers. Doubling is when we are adding the same number together, for example, 4+4 or 23+23. 1) Most of you should know your doubling facts up to 12- Here is a video to remind you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At0quRa90rs 2) Play the below game: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button - Hit the Doubles button - Select the number range you would like – I would suggest doing Doubles from 5 to 15 first and Multiples to 100 3) Complete the doubling activity- a. Take 2 dice or use the online dice website ( https://www.random.org/dice/ ). b. Roll two dice together and creating a 2-digit number with the numbers rolled. For example, if I roll an 8 and a 3, it would make the number 83 c. Now double that number, using the partitioning and recombining method if needed. d. Post a picture of your working out or a photo of you doing the activity onto SeeSaw for me to see :)
