In our last lesson about elated, we focused on the first R of RULER (Recognize emotions based on what our and other peoples' bodies do.). Now let's focus on the other parts of RULER for the emotion elated. The U (Understand) helps us think about what causes our emotions and what ideas are part of the emotion. The L (Label) helps us state the other words that are similar to our target word. The E (Express) lets us think about how the person showed the emotion. The last R (Regulate) reminds us to think about how to manage our behaviors when the emotion visits us. Think of a story you remember reading where a character experiences the emotion elated. Answer the RULER questions about that character.
