Where we are-going off into the distance-one point perspective

Grades: 1st Grade, Kindergarten
Subjects: Art

Student Instructions

Hello Artists! Today, we are going to go a little deeper into art with our next unit and we will be learning to draw using our thinking skills. The first lesson is based on one point perspective. There are photos attached to help you step-by-step. First, you will draw a vanishing point (just a dot in the middle of your paper). Next, draw a line across the middle through the vanishing point-this is called the horizon line. It is the dividing line of the sky and the ground. Third, you will draw what looks like a triangle from the vanishing point-that is your road. Notice how the road gets smaller as it gets further way. Last add details. It could be a mountain scene, maybe there are houses next to the road, or even a park bench? Be creative and if you get confused, remember use the photos attached for step-by-step instructions.
