Student Instructions

1. Collaborate with your group to build a tower. 👀👉You will have different materials for each tower model.(base ten blocks, construction rods and pop sticks and cubic blocks)Or what other materials you want . 2. Take a picture photo of your group's tower. 3. Count and label how many flats, rods, and units your group used to create the tower. Or you may want to use a ruler/tape to measure your tower in units. Record you results on your page. Save your response as a draft Return your materials. 👀👉Next lesson choose different materials to build your next 🗼Tower. Repeat the steps and add another page to your groups response. You might repeat the challenge 3 times. Then on a new page using mic or video discuss your groups towers. Which one was Tallest? How tall? What materials were the best/worst to work with? Why? When complete check your response.

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

A simple STEM activity to build towers and compare materials. Can be done individually or in groups. I have suggested some potential building materials but students can use what ever is available. The more different the materials , the more students can discuss about their positive and negative building attributes.
