Student Instructions
1. Read the activity directions. 2. Next, click on the PDF to preview the sentence starter for your claim. 3. Now the activity to your science journal. 4. Use the tool to take a photo of two materials from your baggie that you believe share some of the same properties (they should share more than one property!). 5. Use the or tools to make a claim about your two materials. *You can click on "View Instructions" to look back at the sentence starter to help you write your claim.* 6. Click the 7. Submit your work into the correct folder!
After completing this activity and approving student posts, have students go back and choose 2-3 students' posts to read (pull sticks to be sure that all children have someone reading their post). After reading each post, have students write a comment* using the sentence frame "I agree/disagree with you because ______________________________" to either agree with or refute the claim. If you have not set up comments to be automatically posted, you will need to approve student comments as well. *Teacher must be sure that the comment feature is turned on.
