Instructions for Pupils

Draw your class mascot using only dots (pixels). 1. Press on the green add button to start the activity. 2. Choose your name from the class list. 3. Select the drawing tool. 4. Change the width of the pencil to the thickest line. 5. Using your finger to press gently up and down, create your animal shape, using only dots to fill out the image. 6. Remember to change colours on the side menu. 7. When you are finished, press check and then check again to upload your work into your folder. 8. Don't forget to sign out when you are done.

Teacher Notes (not visible to pupils)

This activity was given to students after discussion on pixels and how they form our digital images. We read "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds first and discussed the many different types of dots drawn by the main character. Students were shown many different photos, pixelated photos and given a definition of a pixel.
