Australian Aboriginal Languages-Writing Sentences in Wonnarua- Allative Suffix

Grades: 8th Grade, 6th Grade, 4th Grade

Student Instructions

1. Suffixes are added to Wonnarua words to provide additional meaning within a sentence. 2. The Allative Suffix: Indicates going TO somewhere. For example: We will go to school. We-ERG future tense school-ALL 3. Different Allative suffixes are added, depending on the word endings. See the table below and look at how the suffix changes. Word ending in Allative Suffix Ng or vowel (a,e,i,o,u) -kaku L, r, rr -aku W, y, ny, yn -tjuku n -taku 3. Click on add to complete the student activity. seesaw In the activity, draw a line to the matching allative suffix for each word. eg. .....................-ALL .......................-............. 4 mic Record yourself saying each of the words with their suffix on each activity page. 5. Check your work before clicking check to submit your work for teacher feedback.
