Writer's Workshop: Use Strong Words

Strong writers use strong words! Sensory words appeal to our sight, taste, touch, smell, and sound. Emotional words dig deep into our thoughts and emotions. Let's take a look at an example. 1. Underline the writer's position statement in yellow. 2. Underline in purple sensory and emotional words. 3. Your turn! Create a caption. Copy and paste "Everyone should plan a visit to ________ because _________" into your caption. Fill in the blanks. Then write 3-8 more sentences. Be sure to include emotional and sensory words.
