Student Instructions

For this activity, you have 3 options. After you have finished filling in the blanks on the research page, you may reflect on your learning in one of the following ways: 1) Imagine a friend who needs a transplant. Using the "NOTE" option, write a 5 paragraph essay to convince your friend either to get an artificial heart, or to refuse to get one. Be sure to include evidence from your research to support your argument, and give credit to the original author. OR 2) Create an advertisement for an artificial heart that YOU have invented. Be sure to give it a name, a logo, a catchy slogan, and even a jingle if you'd like. Use art work and/or creative images as needed. Name your price, and let your target demographic know how and where they can purchase it. OR 3) Using only the materials available in this room, construct your own version of an artificial heart. Label its parts and explain how it would work. Then take a picture or video and upload it to this assignment.
