Student Instructions

1. Watch the video: 11 Kid Inventors Break Down Their Greatest Inventions 2. Let's Invent! Think about a time you wished you had something to make the situation easier or more enjoyable. What is something you could invent that would help? 3. In the Student Template On page 1, brainstorm ideas for different inventions. Using the pen tool, list or draw your ideas in the pink box. Circle your favorite invention idea. On page 2, use the pen tool to make notes about how to create or make the invention you chose. 4. Make or design your invention! If possible, use materials around your house or classroom to actually make your invention. Otherwise, you can draw a detailed picture of what your invention would look like. Take a video or picture of your invention. 5. In the student template on page 3, upload your invention video or picture using the photo icon. If you uploaded an image, and not a video, use the mic to record yourself explaining the purpose of your invention and how it works.

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

This activity shares a video of student inventors. It then encourages students to become inventors! Using the student template, the students will brainstorm ideas, choose their favorite, and then make notes about how to create their invention. Students are encouraged to actually make their invention, but it also gives the option to draw and explain. Finally, students submit a video or picture of their invention and explain the purpose or their invention and how it works.
