Student Instructions

Good morning, third grade students! I hope you're all doing well. For today's activity, I would like you to compare and contrast the climates of Boston, Massachusetts and Phoenix, Arizona. You can click on the sample student to see an example of a response. First, watch the video to learn about the differences between weather and climate. As you watch the video, make sure you are able to say sentences like: "The climate in ____ is _____ but the climate in ____ is _____." Next, click the add button to add your response. After that, examine, or look at, the pictures and graphs. Study each picture or graph carefully and identify the similarities and differences between the climates of Boston and Phoenix. On the last slide, you can use the label tool to make notes about what you want to say. Then, click the mic button to record your response. Finally, when you are finished click the check button to submit your work. Today we are focusing on using complete sentences to compare and contrast so make sure you say at least 3 complete sentences and use 1 sentence frame to practice academic talk.
