Student Instructions

Learning Intention: Identify a proper sitting posture for sitting in class. Some students have creative ways of positioning their bodies in a chair, on the carpet, or other items of furniture. This lesson will help students understand that "sitting appropriately" means sitting with your bottom on the chair or floor whilst keeping your arms and legs to yourself. Thinking questions: 1. How many ways can you sit on a chair? 2. Why do you think it matters how you are sitting in class? 3. Where are some other places you might have to sit appropriately? 4. Why do you think it is important to sit 'still' sometimes? 5. What would be a good definition for sitting appropriately? Directions: Circle the students who are sitting appropriately, cross out the ones who are not.
