Student Instructions

Camouflage is another example of an adaption that helps an animal to survive in its environment. Animals utilise camouflage to avoid detection by both predator and prey species. Camouflage only works if it matches the environment. We are going to create an artwork that focuses on the camouflage of one animal. 1. Choose an animal that uses camouflage (Some examples have been included on the slide or you can choose your own). 2. Using A5 paper you will draw 4 different pictures of the same animal. Use a pencil to draw the picture, then go over it with black marker or crayon. Then add colour using the oil pastel crayons. Picture 1 - The animals head Picture 2 - A close up of their fur/skin/scale/feathers Picture 3 - A close up of their eye Picture 4 - Either the animal as a whole or another feature. 3. Once you have completed the 4 separate pictures, glue them on one sheet of paper. 4. Outline each picture using a black marker to make them stand out. (as pictured) When you are finished Tap add and take a photo Tap check to add to your portfolio.
