Writing with Detail - Creating a movie in my readers mind

Grades: 3rd Grade
Subjects: English Language Arts, Writing

Student Instructions

I want you to watch the video below. Pretend it's you walking through the forest. What do you see? What do you hear? What do you feel? Are you hot or cold? Imagine; are you coming from somewhere, or going somewhere? Playing hide and seek, going for a walk or starting an adventure? In your writing books, I want you to write as many details as you can so that your reader can make a movie of your writing in their mind. For Example: "The leaves crunched beneath my feet as I slowly made my way down the muddy path. It was cool, but I was feeling warm, and I could hear the birds chirping in the trees around me." When you are done: 1. Take a photo and add it to this assignment 2. Using the mic, record yourself reading your detailed sentences so your family can hear
