MUSIC: Music and Feelings

Hello Musicians, Music is a great way to help get us excited and awake, or calm and focused. It also does a great job of creating scary feelings in movies! It can be a great tool for us as feel different emotions. 1 Watch the short video from MPR, about the "recipe" for creating music with different emotions. It will teach you how composers use tempo (speed), dynamics (volume), and instrumentation (instruments they use), to create these feelings in music. 2. Then, go to add response. In todays response you will listen to 6 short clips of music and sort them into the emotion that they create. The choices are happy, calm, or scary. You will sort these 6 clips into the feeling box that describes them. Then, go to the next page of the response. It's your turn! Do you have favorite songs for when you are happy? Or songs that help calm you down? Share at least 1 song that you enjoy. More is great too! Use the text tool to write down your songs. Have fun, musicians!
