Math at Home activities include a variety of math routines that invite students to engage in meaningful mathematical problem solving and discourse. Math at Home activities are provided by The Math Learning Center with support from the Maier Math Foundation. MATH IN OUR WORLD Math in Our World activities invite students to solve problems about math in our homes and the world around them. These problems feature glimpses into other families’ lives. Many of the problem situations can be extended. Students can take it to the next level by writing and solving their own problems about the situation. Take a look at the Reference for Educators for sample student responses for this specific activity. https://mathathome.mathlearningcenter.org/activity/1607 WANT TO LEARN MORE?
