Three Levels of Government - HASS - Civics

Grades: 6th Grade
Subjects: History

Student Instructions

Australia is a democracy and we have three levels of Government. Do you know what they are? Why they exist? What they do? You job is to research democracy and the three levels of government in Australia. Make sure you include information about democracy, and some details about each of the three levels of government. Eg. What is the title for the person at the top of each level of government? How oftern are they elected? Why do we even need a federal government (think about life before federation)? We are not the only country in the world with three levels of government, so when you are researching, make sure you include the word 'Australia' in your search. Don't forget to look at some videos on You Tube or BTN for information too. Once you have researched, use the template provided to present your information. This has been emailed to all of your families as a word document that you can type straight into. Once you have completed this work, save the template as a PDF file and upload it using the ADD button at the top of this task. Students who were at school last week have already completed this task and they do not need to do it again. This is only to be completed by students who were not at school in Week 9 of the term. The printed documents can also be turned into a poster once you are back at school. Be sure to save your word document for this. See the items attached to view how the posters will look once they are completed.
