This activity goes with Code.org's Course B Lesson 10 called "The Right App". Here is a link to the activity: https://studio.code.org/s/courseb-2021/lessons/10. This link contains a slide deck with some examples of what the home page of different apps might look like, and students choose which app they think would be best in different situations. This lesson activity including the scenario and image was created by Code.org. The final activity in the lesson asks students to design an app for Anton the Alien, who has landed on earth and goes to the library because he likes to read books, but all the books are written in earthling languages that he can't read. Instead of using crayons and markers to design the home page of an app, I wanted the students to use Seesaw's drawing program to design the home page and then use the microphone to explain how the app would work. Go to https://code.org/about to out more about code.org and their free online curriculum.
