Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

Page 2 words given from Fountas and Pinnell: playing, walking, walked, worked, running, sits, planned, likes, wanted, hunted, reading, reads, fixed, played, helping. What I did: As students came to my table, I asked them to circle the word they hear and choose a color for me to mark their page with a check or "x." If students got it correct, I made a check next to the number. If they got it incorrect, I underlined the suffix and re-read the word while asking them to pay close attention to the whole word when listening. Parent feedback: "We loved hearing our child read page 1 to find areas where we can help at home and find out how well they are listening to the spoken words."
