Achieving my Personal Best: Muscular Power (Standing Broad Jump)

Student Instructions

Instructions: 1) Get your partner to film video you performing a Standing Broad Jump Tips for the cameraperson - Choose an angle to film such that you can see your partner's side profile (see the example I provided) - Do not move the iPad as you're filming - As far as possible, film when there isn't anyone else in the background 2) Go to the Photos app on the iPad 3) Play back the jump video 4) Pause and take a screenshot (press the on/off and the home button simultaneously) of the 3 different phases of a Standing Broad Jump 5) Go back to Seesaw to add to this activity, and select drawing 6) Upload each of the 3 screenshots to a separate page by selecting addpage on the right 7) Analyse and evaluate your own jump by using the label, pen, pencil (Note: You can choose to talk about it too by tapping on the mic) When analysing your performance, refer to these essential elements of a quality Standing Broad Jump: 1) Pre-flight - knees bent, ready to "lift-off" - hands way back, ready to swing forward 2) Lift off - lean forward slightly - swing arms FORCEFULLY - extend legs fully - ideal angle of attack = 45 degrees 3) Landing - "motorbike" landing ie hands forward,knees bent
