Instructions for Pupils
1. Watch 'Fishing with Sam'.
2. Click 
3. Click label 
and type a response in each box. Use your best guess-and-go spelling and stretch out the words to hear the sounds.

and retell the important parts of the story. Include the information you put in your notes. Remember to click again to stop recording!
6. Listen to your retell to make sure you have all 4 story elements, then click 2 times to save.
Teacher Notes (not visible to pupils)
Play video as interactive "video aloud" and have students turn and talk at strategic points. Pause at 0:53 to ask about setting, pause at 1:51 to ask about characters (describe penguin with red scarf), pause at 2:47 to ask about problem, pause at 3:13 to ask how they predict the characters will solve the problem. After video ask about solution to problem, who they think Sam is and why to explain the title.
