Student Instructions

Maths- How many are hiding? 1. Play the game Materials: 10 counters and a cup. Instructions: Take turns hiding some of the counters in the cup and showing the leftovers. The other person has to answer to the question “How many are hiding?” Tell the answer and then say it like a sum: Example: I have 10 counters and I decide to hide 4 in my cup. 6 and 4 more make 10. Or 10 take 4 equals 6 left in the cup. 2. At the end of the game tap add use the mic to tell us some of the sums you made. 3. If you are really clever you could also use the label tool and the shapes to record like in the example or you could take a photo of your work. 4. Tap check to upload.

*Learning Intention: Develop understanding of the quantity of numbers. Become familiar with what combinations make 10, so it becomes automatic.
