Engineering Design Process: "Can Somebody Please Scratch My Back?" by Jory John

Instructions for Pupils

1. Tap link and listen to the story "Can Somebody Please Scratch My Back?" by Jory John. While listening to the story, think about Elephant's PROBLEM and IMAGINE how you can use the engineering design process to help solve his problem. 2. Tap add. 3. Tap pen, pencil, or highlighter tools and SKETCH designs of your solution to Elephant's problem (or your own if you have an itchy back!) using materials you have in your home. Be inventive and innovative! You can use more than one page for sketches. If you have more than one sketch, circle the one you think is best. 4. Tap label to add text or mic to talk and describe your innovation. 5. Optional! IF you build a MODEL of your back scratcher, take a picture or video of how it works!
