Designing an Airplane #5 - The Bullnose

Grades: 3rd Grade

Student Instructions

Today you will make The Bullnose. You have a one-hour time limit and will make 4 different modifications to your plane. Be sure to record your results and your modifications. Directions: 1. Click add to add this activity to your canvas. 2. Follow the basic directions on how to make the airplane. 3. Use the label to list the materials you used to make the Bullnose. 4. Fly your prototype one time and measure how far it flew in feet. Use the label tool to record the measurement in the chart. 5. Make one modification at a time and fly the plane with the modification. Measure how far it flew. Use the label tool to record the distance in the chart. Make a total of four modifications. (You may need to make a new prototype, depending on the modification you make.) 6. Use the label tool to complete the Reflection box. 7. Take a photo of your plane and add it to the second page of this activity. You may also include a video your experiment if you so choose. 8. Check your work! Have you completed all the required boxes? 9. Click the check button to turn in this activity. We can't wait to see your planes and learn all about your modifications!
