Teachers, save “Reading Fluency Practice” to assign it to your class.

1. 𝑅𝐸𝒞𝒪𝑅𝒟: Use Seesaw to record yourself reading with your BEST fluency for 1-2 minutes. 2. 𝐿𝐼𝒮𝒯𝐸𝒩: Play your recording and follow along in the text. 3. 𝒞𝐻𝐸𝒞𝒦: Make marks at any fluency problems you notice: ✅ 𝗣𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 ~ Are you “chunking” words to show meaning? ✅ 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 ~ Need better emotion? ✅ 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 ~ Skipped or Added words? ✅ 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗲 ~ Didn’t pause/stop at punctuation? Too fast or too slow? 4. 𝑅𝐸𝐹𝐿𝐸𝒞𝒯: Write one “Glow” and one “Grow.” 5. 𝑅𝐸𝒫𝐸𝒜𝒯: Practice 2-3 times to improve your fluency.
