This activity was created with a 4th grade standard in mind. This is a great activity for independent work, math rotation stations, enrichment, or remediation. Students will solve problems by identifying given rule of shape patterns (growing & repeating). Then, they will apply the rule to complete the shape pattern. Finally, they will use the rule to find the nth pattern. 4.ATO.5 Generate a number or shape pattern that follows a given rule and determine a term that appears later in the sequence. This activity was inspired by Blake Lewis.
