Teachers, save “Metric Lengths and Conversion Scavenger…” to assign it to your class.

1. With your Math groups, find the following items in the classroom: - A pencil - Length across a pillow - Height of a wobbly chair - Height of my desk - Height of a cushion chair - Length of a glue-stick - One random item of choice (must be in the class) 2. Measure the lengths of the items with your ruler or meter stick. 3. Convert your lengths to Decimetres, Meters and Millimetres using the conversion chart! Remember the power of 10s! 4. Take pictures of each of the items and post the pictures to this activity. 5. Label your pictures in the caption with the length of your item in CM, DM and Meters.
