Learning Intention- Today we are learning to combine two-dimensional shapes to form a regular hexagon.
To be successful I need to:
- Use the tool to brainstorm all the properties I can think of for a hexagon.
(For examples the number of sides, vertices, types of internal angles, lines (such as parallel or perpendicular), asn well as the number of lines (axis) of symmetry etc.
- Select the
on the left hand side and click on
icon.
This will provide you with a range of 2D shapes you can manipulate and combine to form as many hexagon combinations you can think of.
- Briefly outline how you formed each hexagon.
(For example shapes used, what fraction each shapes represents and how you rotated or manipulated the shapes).
- Repeat this for a trapezium.
