Teachers, save “Fractions in Art (Inspired by the works…” to assign it to your class.

Use the NGA Kids app to create a painting inspired by Mark Rothko. Using the colours and design of your choice, create a painting that is 1/2 one colour, 1/4 another colour, and 1/4 another colour. When finished, save your painting, then it to Seesaw. Use the tool to label the fractions of each colour. Extra challenge: Can you create a painting that uses 5 different colours, and is divided into at least 6 regions? Use the tool to label the area (as a fraction) that each colour occupies.
