You will need to find some string or yarn and two different colored pens. 
Go outside and choose 3 leaves of varying sizes and shapes. Careful not to choose a leaf that will make you itch. I've add a photo of leaves you should stay clear from.

Step 1: Trace your leaves onto graph paper
Step 2: Count full squares 1-? and count partial squares 1-?
Step 3: Take the number of full squares and add them to the number of partial squares that have been multiplied by .5. This is the area of your leaf in cm^2. 
Step 4. Use a string to outline the leaf. Use a ruler to measure the string. This is the perimeter. 
Step 5. Use the 
 to show your work and calculations.
