(S6) Selfie Science: Use Magnets to Solve a Problem

Grades: 5th Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade

Student Instructions

The purpose of this Selfie Science is to solve a real-world problem using magnetism. 1. Ask the members of your family to think of a problem. For example, we can never find scissors at our house. 2. Brainstorm ideas for solving this solution. 3. Decide on an idea. Draw your idea. Label the magnet in your drawing. A solution to my problem could be a hang a magnet on the wall for the scissors. 4. Build a prototype/model. Take a picture of your invention. 5. Take a photo and video of your invention solving your problem. 6. Use the mic to explain your problem and solution.
