Student Instructions

1. Calculate the area of the first shape by counting the number of coloured squares. 2. Calculate the perimeter by counting the number of lines outside the shape. 3. Draw each shape translated, rotated and reflected AND record you're thinking. 4. Redraw the same shape, although enlarge it by 2. If one side of the shape was 2 squares long, redraw it 4 squares long. Calculate this by multiplying each side by 2. 5. Calculate the area and perimeter of your new enlarged shape. Learning Intentions: W.A.L.T. translate, rotate and reflect shapes. Success Criteria: W.I.L.F. turning shapes by 90, 180 and 270 degrees. Mentally picturing a flipped shape. Redrawing of shapes with the exact same dimensions.
