Algebra: Write Variable Equations

Grades: 6th Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade
Subjects: Math

Student Instructions

Today you will learn all about writing variable equations for different scenarios. Think of a scenario like a short math word problem. Remember, variables are letters that represent unknown numbers in an equation. For example, if 10 - d = 5, we would know that d = 5 because 10 - 5 = 5. Write equations using variables in this activity. 1. Click on add to begin your assignment. 2. Review page 1. 3. On page 2, write 3-5 examples of variables (any letters) we can use in a variable equation. 4. Write an equation using the given variables on pages 3-6. Don't forget to solve for the variable, too! 5. Complete the bonus on page 7 by writing your own scenario, writing an equation, and solving your equation. You are so amazing!
