Use the rods to create a tape diagram that represents your word problem.
1) Take a 
of a tape diagram using rods to model your multi-step word problem.
2) Tap the 
tool to show the value of each rod as well as a variable for the unknown.
3) Write your word problem as a caption.
4) Tap the 
tool and 
your word problem as you point out the related parts of the tape diagram. Be sure to explain the solution for your problem.
5) Tap the 
to turn it in to your journal.
