Launch a Rocket

Grades: Pre-K, Kindergarten
Subjects: STEAM

Student Instructions

For this activity, you will need a straw, paper, scissors, tape and markers or crayons. Take a look at the two photos of my example before you begin. 1. Draw a small rocket with your markers or crayons and cut it out. Make sure your rocket is much smaller than your straw. 2. Cut a strip of paper and tape the long sides together to make a tube. Your straw needs to fit inside the tube. 3. Tape one side of the tube shut, then tape the tube to the rocket. 4. Place the rocket on the straw. 5. Time for lift off! 6. Do a countdown. Will you start at 5 or 10? 7. Point the straw up and blow! 8. Take a photo photo or video video of your rocket and use the add add response to share it with me. Have fun launching your rocket!
